Birthday Dinner at Mommom & Poppop Ladd's
Tonight we went to Mommom Lenor and Poppop Ladd's house for Emerson's birthday dinner. Our friend Eliza, who lives across the street from Mommom and Poppop, came over with her mom and dad too. Poppop grilled hotdogs and hamburgers for us and then we went outside while the grown-ups ate their dinner. When they were finished they called us inside for birthday cake. Poppop came up with the great idea of having Emerson's #4 candle in one of the train cars going around on a railroad track! It was so awesome! After we all sang, we ate some cake and then Em got to open presents. He really racked up this year! (And he hasn't even had his "friends" birthday party yet!)
Birthday Bowling
Mommy and Daddy took us to the bowling alley in Norwalk today. We've been working really hard to fill our chores chart with charms so that we could earn this! It took us a few weeks, but we finally managed to get it done! Bowling was so much fun! I figured out that if I hold my stance after I roll the ball, I'm more likely to hit more pins. I even got a few spares! Emerson did pretty well too! Here are a few pics from our afternoon bowl!
(Early) Birthday Dinner at Sakura
Tonight we met Daddy at the Japanese restaurant Sakura in Westport for Em's birthday dinner. We LOVE hibachi and the fires they make on the table before they cook our food. After dinner we went to a fundraiser at Emerson's school. It was a concert and an ice cream social. That was a lot of fun! We sang songs like "We don't care what Momma don't allow, we're gonna do it anyhow!" and John the Rabbit's "Oh yes!". We got to dance, jump, and shake too! After the concert we had a BIG bowl of ice cream! Once we got home, Daddy read some more Harry Potter (we're about halfway through the 2nd one) to us. We let Emerson fall asleep and then I helped Mommy and Daddy decorate and wrap birthday presents. Here are some pics from our night!

Let the Birthday Celebrations Begin! Emerson is turning 4!
Today Emerson got to bring cupcakes to school so he could celebrate his 4th birthday with his friends! He really wanted Super Paper Mario cupcakes, so Mommy found a way to make them for him. She even put one in my lunchbox so I could have one too! When he got to school, his teacher gave him a birthday crown, sticker, pencil, and certificate. Here are some pictures from his special day at school!
My First Report Card
Today Mommy had a conference with my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Stelly. Mrs. Stelly gave Mommy my first report card. I got mostly all 4's which are like A's!! The only area Mrs. Stelly says that I still need to work on is writing my words with a capital letter first and then all lower case letters. She also said I need to work on leaving spaces in between my words. Mrs. Stelly said that I'm reading level 5 books which is also really great because when you leave kindergarten they like for you to be reading level 4 books and I'm already past that! I am one of 3 kids in my class that are reading books by myself! By the time I finish kindergarten Mrs. Stelly thinks I'll be way past the 5 books! She also told my Mommy that I am one of the brightest kids that will be going into 1st grade next year! Mommy and Daddy told me that they are so proud of me and they gave me new Mario Kart PJ's as a special treat for such a good report card. :)
