Summer Camps

On Monday, I started soccer camp. I am going to Dick Packer's "Kicks for the Fun of It" soccer camp in Rowayton M-F 9-12. It is the hottest week of the summer too!! Every day has been over 95 degrees!! I am having such a blast though! Today I was assigned to World Cup Team Italy. We are being coached by Coach Mike. We played Team USA and Team Ireland....Ireland totally smoked us.
This year I am also old enough to go to the Vacation Bible School that Hope Church is doing. The theme this year is "High Seas"! Bible Camp is from 2-5 so I have a very long day! Mom is pretty surprised how much I am loving going to both of these! I am so bummed that the last day is on Friday. Then we'll just start counting down the days until my birthday party at Pump It Up in Norwalk and also when we head down to NC to hang with Trey, Aunt Jessy, and Uncle Carl!

Here are a few pics from VBS so far....

It's been a while...

Mommy's camera is broken, so it's been a while since we've had any pictures to post. Here are a few pics from her cell phone's camera...

Pancakes and Firetrucks

This morning we met Poppop Ladd and Uncle Jim at Poppop's house to go to a pancake breakfast to support the Georgetown Firestation. The pancakes were so yummy and everyone was so impressed with how many we ate (we each went back for 3rd's!). After we ate breakfast, we went outside to check out the firetrucks. We were the only kids at the time so the firemen let us climb on every truck! We got to sit inside and even got to try on their uniforms! I don't think Emerson's feet were actually touching the ground because the boots were taller than his legs! Here are a couple pictures Dad took of me and Em in the fireman uniforms.

Happy 5th Birthday Emerson!

Today Emerson turned 5! We had a really fun day planned for him. We took him, along with Mr & Mrs Newsom, Jasmyn, Jayda, Mrs. Pote, Eric and Alex to Chuck-E-Cheese with us in Orange, CT. It was about a 30 minute drive, but well worth it! We ate a bunch of pizza and played all the games. Emerson's favorite game was the one where the wheel spins and lands on a number that decides how many tickets it will give you. On one of his 1st tries, he landed on 75, the max for that machine! Once we turned in all of our tickets for prizes, we headed back to our house for cake. Mom stayed up pretty late last night making it. It was 4 layers: 2 bottom white cake layers covered in buttercream and filled with a strawberry filling, and then 2 top butter cake layers also covered in buttercream but filled with a chocolate mousse. The best part was that she was able to find the Super Mario "fig-a-rines" (that's how Em says "figurines") to decorate some of the cake with. Poppop Ladd, Aunt Betsey, and Uncle David even came over to sing Happy Birthday and have a piece of cake with us! After cake Em got to open his presents. He got such a great haul! He also really enjoyed being "king for the day" and had no problem ordering the rest of us around with what we call his "royal decrees"! We are so lucky to have Emerson in our lives. He brings us so much joy and laughter and life is just better with him! We love you Emerson!!

Thanks Aunt Karry & Uncle Jason!

Last night after we were ready for bed, Mom and Dad let us open a package that Aunt Karry, Uncle Jason, Aidan, Aisley, Hudson, and Wilson sent us from Japan where they live. We got some really great goodies like a cookie in the shape of a fish, a little chocolate bar that looks like yen, and what looks like a helicopter and airplane erector set. We also both got little Japanese outfits that are perfect for jammies! Thanks so much for thinking of us!! We love you and miss you!!

Emerson-isms

Here are a couple of things that Emerson has said lately that have gotten pretty good laughs out of Mom and Dad:

1. One night after a shower, he wanted Mom to put baby powder on his belly. He climbed up on the bed and as Mom was sprinkling the powder he said, "Mom, did you know baby powder is made out of babies?" Her reply was, "yes Em, and if you don't straighten up your behavior, I'm gonna make baby powder out of YOU!"

2. At story time the other night, I was reading to Mom and Emerson in my bed. When I was finished for the night, they went to get out of the bed and Em asked Mom, "Why do girls have ninnies like boys do on top of their boobies?" Mom said, "that's where the babies get the milk from, remember?" Em answered back, "you mean they are like (bottle) caps?"

3. This afternoon, Emerson said to Dad, "Dad! I have a new game I just made up that is JUST for adults! You drink beer and whoever drinks the most beers, WINS!" Dad send him straight to Mom so he could tell her about his new game. Mom is certain that he will end up in a fraternity in college one day!
