Oyster Festival Fun

We went to the Oyster Festival again this year. It is right down the street from our house, so Mom and Dad pack us into the jogging stroller and off we go! We got to go on most of the rides (as long as we were tall enough!) and then we had lunch. After we ate, we watched the Spiderman show. It was a really nice family day!

Em's a Big Boy too!

Today was Emerson's 1st day of preschool. He is happy because he gets to call it "his school" instead of my school! He goes to preschool Monday, Wednesday and Friday. He got to play on the playground and he even learned the "5 Little Speckled Frogs, Sitting on a Speckled Log" song. What does Mommy do with her free time now??

The REAL First Day of School!

Yesterday was supposed to be my first day catching the bus to school. I got up super early, put on my special new green shirt that I picked out myself, and went out to the bus stop with Mommy and Emerson. We waited and waited until finally my friends next door came out to catch the bus too. That's when we realized that I had already missed the bus! Mommy says the schedule said 8:28, but the bus driver told us that he's usually at my stop by 8:18. SO, Mommy drove me to school and I took the bus home. Today we were up even earlier than yesterday! I was all ready and outside by 8:00 so I wouldn't miss the bus. It was so much fun! I am so happy Mommy is letting me take the bus to and from school now! Now I feel like I've REALLY started school! I'm such a big kid!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year (well, to Mommy anyway!)

Today was the first day of kindergarten!! I am going to Marvin Elementary School down the street from our house. My teachers are Mrs. Stelly and Mrs. Kelly. (I have been having a hard time remembering my teachers' names so Mommy told me to remember "smelly"....she's hoping I don't say that to either of them!) Today Mommy dropped me off and then Poppop Ladd picked me up. I got to eat snack and lunch there! I even had recess and got to play on the playground. I met some of my classmates, but I'll meet the rest tomorrow. Next week, Mommy is going to let me start riding the bus to and from school! I am saving my "good clothes" for then!

Today was also Emerson's "meet the teacher" day at First Step Christian Preschool. He already knew Miss Bacon, but he got a chance to meet 2 other boys that will be in his class. He even got a chance to play in his new classroom for a while. He starts next week.

Dude! We're in the Outer Banks, Dude!

It's that time of year again...Outer Banks vacation, that is! We stayed in the same condo as last year (Thanks Poppop Ladd!!) and had just as great of time as we did before! The weather was even more awesome that last year because we had a nice sea breeze and we could leave our windows open. Last year was a little tougher too because Emerson was still wearing diapers! This year we fished on the beach in the afternoons, boogie boarded, body surfed, rock climbed, played mini-Pirate golf, went to Jockey Ridge State Park and even went back to the Wright Brothers Museum. Aunt Jessy, Uncle Carl, and our cousin Treyman came to stay with us for the last couple of days. We LOVE having Trey around!! We all went to the beach, once it got dark, the night that Trey came so we could catch ghost crabs! It was totally cool! I hope we can go back again next year!

Oops I Did It Again!

Yep! That's right....I got my second set of stitches tonight! It wasn't enough that Mommy and Daddy already have us all packed to leave for our vacation to VA and the Outer Banks tomorrow. I had to shake it up a bit and run into a wall at Poppop Ladd's house! We had just gotten there and Mommy and Daddy were just headed up the hill to Poppop's backyard when they saw me turn my head as I was running and **SMACK**, right into the stone wall that surrounds the patio. Mommy and Daddy knew instantly that I needed stitches, so we packed up and headed to the Norwalk Hospital ER. About an hour and a half later we went back to Poppop's, good as new with about 8-10 stitches. I'm not sure I completely learned my lesson because as soon as we got to Mommom and Poppop's I was running again.

Here Crabby Dabby!

For the last weekend that Uncle Eric and Aunt Jourdan were visiting, we took them to the NJ Shore to see some of our family. Uncle Drew even drove up for the weekend and brought Trey. We spent Saturday knee-deep in mud crabbing. Very messy, but sooo much fun!
