Congratulations Aunt Melissa & Uncle Chris!!

Tonight Aunt Melissa had baby Andrew "Lawson" Hayes at 7:50pm. I guessed the right time, Mommy guessed the right length, but Daddy guessed the right weight! Lawson is a teenie tiny thing and weighs 6lbs 3oz and is 20.5" long. Here are a few pics of our new "cousin"! Mommy is so lucky because she gets to fly down to NC on Thursday for the weekend to meet baby Lawson. I hope we get to meet him sometime soon too--maybe when he can be around us "biohazards" as Mommy and Daddy call us. :)

My 1st Soccer Game

Today was my first soccer game at West Rocks Middle School. I am on Team 2 and I've only had one practice. I was a little nervous, but VERY excited too! I did great though...I scored 6 goals today!! Mommy was so proud of me! Daddy couldn't be there because he has a big work project he's doing at his office, so Mommy videotaped me playing for him. He can't wait to watch it!

2nd day of 1st grade....

and I have to report that I fell asleep in school. I wasn't bored or anything, I just was tired because Emerson woke me up at 6am this morning. I laid my head on my desk and my teacher told me to pick my head up...she didn't know I was asleep though. Mommy says if it happens again, both Emerson and I will be grounded from all video games for a week! I told her that I'm going to bed at 6:30pm tonight! (All this even though Mommy had us in bed at 6:45pm last night to read to ourselves and then turned our lights out at 7pm!!)

1st Day of 1st Grade

Today was my 1st day of 1st grade at Marvin Elementary School. My teacher is Mrs. Kovlakas. I really wanted to ride the bus on the 1st day of school this year so on Monday Mommy took me over to my school to find my classroom, B-3. I knew right where it was! So today we went outside to take a few pictures around 8am before I caught the bus. We waited and waited and waited and no bus came. Finally a woman drove past us and saw that we were waiting and asked Mommy if we were waiting for bus 422, which we were. She told Mommy that the bus was broken down just down the street and that they were sending another one. We waited a few minutes more and then Mommy decided to run in the house and get her purse and keys to drive me to school. I waited on the front steps and saw the bus come around the corner so I yelled "MOMMY!!!!". She came running out the door and walked me down the steps so I could get on the bus--at about 8:40am (the regular time is about 8:20am)! WHEW! I had a really fun day and got a new homework folder too. When I got home, Mommy was waiting for me on the front porch. Mom and Emerson even made brownies as a special treat for us for going back to school. Yum!

Back To School!

Today was Emerson's 1st day in Miss Rosie's 4's class at First Step Christian Day School. He was so happy to get back to school and see all of his friends! I don't start school until tomorrow, so Mommy took me to Orem's Diner in Wilton as a special "Big 1st Grader" treat. She told me how proud of me she is! I'll be back on the bus tomorrow and I can't wait!

A Summer Synopsis...

I know we've been pretty bad at updating our blog this summer so here's a brief synopsis of what we've been up to...

June 5, 2009: Emerson finished up preschool and started his summer break.

June 7: Mommy turned 30 so we went to the shore for the weekend to celebrate!

June 25: I finished kindergarten!

June 26: Mommy took us to Jones Family Farm to go strawberry picking; we had enough to make Strawberry Shortcake, Chocolate Covered strawberries, and 8 jars of strawberry jam!

June 27: We went to RI (across the border from CT) to camp. It rained and hailed so much that we all had to sleep in the car!

July 8: We left for NC with Mommy for 3 weeks! Poppop Suter had us for a while day by himself for BOYS DAY!! He took us to the Waffle House, to play laser tag, to the water slides and then to CiCi's Pizza!! Then we got to spend a weekend with Trey, Aunt Jessy, and Uncle Carl (THANK YOU!). We went to the beach a lot! Mommy and Aunt Jessy even took us to see the USS North Carolina Battleship in Wilmington one day.

July 24-27:We drove from Jacksonville, NC to Chapel Hill, NC to see Aunt Jourdan and have lunch. Then we drove from Chapel Hill to Charlotte to see Aunt Shelly, Uncle Justin, Avery, and baby Henry.

July 27-28: We drove from Charlotte, NC to Woodbridge, VA to see Mommom Lois. She took us to play putt putt and eat ice cream!

July 28: WE FINALLY MADE IT HOME!!! Daddy made and posted a special sign for us in the kitchen that said "Welcome Home!" and had flowers for Mommy and legos and fireworks for me and Em!

July 31: I turned 6!! We invited my best friend Eric and his family, and my Poppop Ladd over for pizza and ice cream cake. This year I picked a "cake batter" flavored ice cream cake from Carvel's that had Harry Potter on top. I picked Harry Potter 3 because we finished reading it over vacation and got to watch the movie that week for family movie night.

August 18 (i think): We went to Lake Compounce for the day with our friends Jasmyn and Jayda Newsom. It was part water park, part amusement park....total fun!

Here are some pictures from the summer!

Happy 4th of July!

Here in CT most towns celebrate the 4th of July on the 3rd of July. I'm not really sure why. SO, today we went to the beach for the afternoon. Mommy packed a bunch of food for us and Daddy loaded up the bike trailer. We met our friends the Pote's for the afternoon. Eric Pote is my best friend from school. We played and when it got dark we got to watch the fireworks! Eric's daddy, Mr. Pote, was so tired from working so late (1:30am!) this morning, that he fell asleep and missed the fireworks....he did make the best seat to watch them from though! After the fireworks, we loaded up the bike trailer again and headed for home. By the time we got home it was after 10pm so we were both pretty tired. Emerson even feel asleep in the bike trailer on the way home! It was a great way to celebrate America's birthday!
